Fireworks & BBQ Train Ride to Lavon Nevada

Fireworks & BBQ Train Ride to Lavon Nevada

Fireworks & BBQ Train Ride to Lavon Nevada -- The evening begins with an old-style barbecue with all the trimmings, in the plaza. Then it's on to the Hiline route where, just after sunset, you'll have the best seat in White Pine County to watch the annual fireworks display!

Independence Day fireworks are often accompanied by a pops orchestra playing patriotic songs such as "The Star-Spangled Banner", "God Bless America", "America the Beautiful", "My Country, Tis of Thee", "This Land Is Your Land", "Stars and Stripes Forever", and the "1812 Overture". Some of these songs include lyrics that recall images of the Revolutionary War or the War of 1812.

Although July 4th is celebrated as America's official split from Britain's rule and the beginning of the American Revolution, the actual series of events show that the process took far longer than a single day.

The original resolution was introduced by Richard Henry Lee of Virginia on June 7, 1776, & called for the Continental Congress to declare the United States free from British rule. Three days later a committee headed by Thomas Jefferson was appointed to prepare an appropriate writing for the occasion.

The document that we know as the Declaration of Independence was adopted by Congress on July 4th, although the resolution that led to the writing of the Declaration was actually approved two days earlier.
